Diversorium

Aware of the important audiovisual projects related to functional diversity carried out by the two commissioners together with the members of the OVI-Office for Independent Living and other participants, the Diversorium aims to explore the cultural and social meaning of difference through the development of new forms of cooperation, relationship and connection between all people.

But how can we accept bodies outside the norm by overcoming punitive gazes that consider only "healthy" and "beautiful" bodies? How can we stop these inquisitorial mechanisms and operate from proximity? How can we deal with prejudices instead of remaining sequestered in them? Where might these transformations take place?

Through a series of hybrid public programmes that combine talk, cabaret, food, performance, music and dance, with moments of pause and enjoyment in which to learn and unlearn the multiple possibilities of being and being able to be, the Diversorium project, as well as the artwork that has culminated from this process, foster processes of transversality and intersection between the participants, generating knowledge and dialogue of diversities.
