The objective of this project, which is part of the Art Living Lab for Sustainabilitya programme funded by Creative Europe to facilitate innovation ecosystems and nature-based artistic solutions in France, Belgium and Spain - is to develop a mediation that helps the community members of the Montes do Couso to fulfil their wishes and needs, culminating in an artistic response with a contemporary perspective based on nature.
In Galicia there are currently 2,800 forest communities that manage 670,000 hectares of land, a third of all forest land and almost ¼ of the Galician territory. This is a type of private and collective property that belongs to a community of neighbours who exercise usufructuary sovereignty over the forest territory they inhabit, according to researcher Lara Barros.

Last Saturday, October 12, 2024, the artist Asunción Molinos Gordo presented the art project "Os sentires do monte". She did it in the high part of the Couso Mountains -between the Mirador de San Antoniño and the Monte do Facho- through a Ritual-Party formalized in a route of eleven actions and a reading, by one of the youngest members of the community, of the Protection Plan of the Mountain, written by the artist herself.

On Saturday 12 October 2024 the artist Asunción Muíños Gordo presented the art project "Os sentires do monte" (The feelings of the mountain) in the upper part of the Couso Mountains - between the Miradoiro de San Antoniño and the Monte do Facho - through a Festival-Ritual formalised in a route of eleven actions and a reading, by one of the newest community members, of the Protection Plan of the Mountain, written by the artist herself.

The artist, Asunción Molinos Gordo, inaugurates the artistic result together with the community of mountains of Couso with the ritual feast 'Os sentires do monte'.
The celebration day, which will take place on Saturday, 12 October and will last all day, will consist of a tour around the communal forests, with several stops in important places, where a group of actions linked to the constituent elements of the forest will take place.

Productivism is a lens through which we hear the world, everything revolves around it and obviates all those social networks that are not productive, but that make life. The care, the support networks, the meeting places, the party, the socialisation are reproductive aspects that also make the community together. This transmedia story collects some of the conclusions of the conference 'Montes Comunais. Canto pasado hai no futuro', which was held on 16 December in Couso (Gondomar) within the framework of the participatory artistic project Terra Común.

From this collective desire, defined from the mediation process developed in 2023, an artistic commission was drawn up that will inspire the work of the artist Asunción Molinos Gordo.
Common Ground' organises a meeting to focus on the power of the commons
In this meeting, which aims to deepen the knowledge about the management models of the communal forests, the artist, Asunción Molinos Gordo, who has been invited to initiate the artistic process with the community of Couso, will be presented.

The artistic proposal based on nature, which the contemporary artist will produce in a participatory process together with the community, seeks to raise awareness of the ways of managing the communal forest so that future generations can maintain its legacy.

Thinking about the encounter while you do it
At the end of May we organised the first European meeting of 'Art as a meeting space' and the Communal Route in Galicia.
Couso wants an artistic work linked to nature, respectful of the environment and sustainable.
On the second day of the Terra Común mediation process, we made a drift through the mountain, opening the process to the community of the parish of Couso.

The two days (25 and 26 May) seek to delve into the role of art as a generator of meeting spaces and to analyse the role of society in the self-management of the territory.
