Project Boira Kick-off Excursion

Next Thursday, the 23rd of July will take place Unveil the silence, The project's launch excursion, where we will head towards the epicentre of data centre concentration: the River Gállego.

We will depart from the Espacio Colectivo Paprika (San Agustín, 4, Zaragoza) and travel by public transport* to Peña del Cuervo (municipalities of Villanueva de Gállego and Peñaflor de Gállego), where we will develop an awareness of the natural environment of the Zaragoza metropolitan area.

The guided walk will take place there Tell me what you hear, and I'll tell you what you see., by pepa enrique, from Recreando Estudio, through which we will focus on the characteristic sound of the environment and how we interpret it.

Next, we will move on to an experimental sound proposal, which we have named Silent Concert, hand in hand with the local collective Best Deaf. The Silent Concert it will incorporate sounds captured at the Villanueva de Gállego data centre via sensors that pick up vibrations imperceptible to the human ear. This will allow the proposal to be heard through headphones, respecting the natural environment in which we will be.

With Unveil the silence We propose to launch the project in a playful way on the banks of the Gállego River, which happens to be the centre of the area with the highest density of projected data centres in Aragon. Together we will delve into the contrast generated by the conscious listening to a natural place and the immersion in sounds that are as dystopian as they are immersive.

This will be a space to get to know each other better and to chat, while also letting ourselves be accompanied by these artistic proposals that aim to prepare a foundation upon which to continue building this project collectively, which is just beginning.

We recommend bringing comfortable footwear, water, and mosquito repellent. For added comfort, we also invite you to bring a cloth or mat to sit on the ground. You can bring food, always remembering that we will have to take any waste generated back with us.

Those people travelling from other municipalities can head directly to the Peña del Cuervo area in their own vehicle.

PROGRAMME

19:00 – Meet at the Espacio Colectivo Paprika (San Agustín, 4, La Magdalena district, Zaragoza).

19:10 – Departure for Peña del Cuervo on bus line 28 (direction Peñaflor)
From Coso Street (Stop 994 – Coso Bajo 188). It is important to be punctual.

19:50 h – Arrival at Peña del Cuervo (Stop Ctra. Peñaflor C. Animal Protection) and introduction to the project with Iris Verge and Manu García.

20:00 Tell me what you hear, and I'll tell you what you see., with Pepa Enrique (Recreando Estudio).

20:40 Silent Concert in the care of Mejor Sordo.

21:30 – Departure to Zaragoza from Peña del Cuervo on bus line 28 (direction Coso).

22:15 – Arrival in Zaragoza.
