Citizen art to get involved with the territory and protect wildlife

On Friday November 6, from the beginning of the 18.30h in the House of Culture of Villafranca de los Barros (c/ Luis Chamizo s/n), we present “Asilvestrados”, a citizen art project to protect wildlife. Through this initiative, the staff of AMUS. Acción por el Mundo Salvaje is starting to develop an artistic commission to think about how art can be put at the service of the conservation of the fauna of the territory.

“Asilvestrados draws on the experiences of staff at the AMUS wildlife hospital to ask how art can help us connect with the land and prevent the extinction of threatened wildlife species. Industrialization of the countryside and the loss of a culture linked to natural habitats impact the lives of many animals. Through artistic practice, we want to ask what we can do to restore the broken bonds with the land. Attempting to repair the damage caused to numerous animal species is not only justice; it is a necessary practice to generate healthier ways of inhabiting rural spaces.

During this presentation day, we will be accompanied by the narrator. Carmen Ibarlucea for reminding, through stories from all over the world, of the connection between humans and animals; We will present the Asilvestrados project and conclude with the release of a duck that has recovered at the AMUS hospital.
