Flesh out more democracy – Participatory art call

Are you under 35 and do you want to strengthen democracy through an art-based participatory process?

With a budget of €100,000, this call for proposals will select two citizens' initiatives aimed at strengthening democracy through contemporary art. The call is directed at projects promoted by young people under 35 years of age who wish to imagine, through contemporary art, what the next 50 years of democracy will be like.

In each of the selected projects, a citizens' group will develop, hand in hand with an art mediator, a participatory process that will culminate in the commissioning – and production – of a work of art to be made by the citizens' group to an artist.

Youth-led citizen groups under 35 years of age may apply, either working alongside an artistic mediator or without one. In this case, Concomitentes will find a mediator for the project.

Confabulate more democracy is a programme coordinated by Concomitentes and promoted by the Daniel and Nina Carasso Foundation. It has the support of the Commissioner for Spain in Freedom and the collaboration of La Casa Encendida and the Future Studies Laboratory of the University of Alcalá.
