Sofía Hernández Chong Cuy
Sofía Hernández Chong Cuy is a curator, cultural manager and writer. Between art and education, she promotes participatory art practices that explore the imperceptible, the forgotten and the unseen. From 2018 to 2023, she was director of Kunstinstituut Melly in Rotterdam. In 2023, she was also Mellon Visiting Professor in the Department of Art History at the CUNY Graduate Center in New York. She has served on juries and advisory committees such as the Hugo Boss Prize at the Guggenheim Museum in New York (2018), the Montblanc de la Culture Arts Patronage Award (2017) and the 55th Venice Biennale (2013). Since 2022, she has been a board member of the International Manifesta Foundation, previously director of the Museo Tamayo in Mexico City and held curatorial positions at Art in General and Americas Society in New York.
