Professor Selina Blasco, new matron of Concomitentes

Selina Blasco, lecturer in the Department of Art History at the Complutense University of Madrid and lecturer in the Faculty of Fine Arts, will replace the Director of the Banco Sabadell Foundation, Sonia Mulero.

Very pleased to announce the appointment of Selina Blasco, Professor in the Department of Art History at the Complutense University of Madrid and lecturer in the Faculty of Fine Arts, as a new member of the Concomitentes board of trustees, replacing the Director of the Sabadell Foundation, Sonia Mulero.

For Concomitentes, common governance and decision-making is as key as it is coherent with the practice that we activate in the eight projects that are currently being developed in Spain. For this reason, following the appointment last January of the Concomitant matronage, Today we announce the partial renewal of this group of experts in order to continue to strengthen our way of doing things.

Since its inception, the matronage, which is part of the Re-imagining Governance Plan of Concomitentes-, has become the driving force of the association, ensuring the fulfilment of the project's founding goals; monitoring the performance of the Board of Directors and ensuring citizen accountability and governance; and ensuring the positioning of the project and the concomitances as the soul of the project.

For Selina Her academic facet began by chance, but it has marked her way of being close to art and artists. Attentive to what practices and their forms propose, she investigates how the historical and critical explanations in which they are usually inscribed are culturally constructed. This may be, perhaps, the thread that could weave together works that coexist in an apparently dispersed way, especially in the terms in which academic lines of research are usually described. He studies and writes, often in company, on subjects related to El Escorial, research based on artistic practices, artistic learning communities (university and others), peculiarities of the museum and materialities related to the universe of books and textiles.

Excited to integrate Selina in this new stage...

Welcome!
