The city will follow you: a story told with photobooks, books and non-books, is the title of a performative lecture that premiered at the Faculdad de Belas Artes in Lisbon on Tuesday 30 May 2017, based on a research project developed by the artist with publications and artist's editions from the Faculty of Fine Arts of the Complutense University of Madrid.
The title of the conference comes from a line of the poem The city, The exhibition, which presents a vision of the city using photobooks, artist's books, fanzines and other special publications to illustrate the narrative, is based on the poem by Constantin P. Cavafis, and other verses from the same poem, which give shape to each of the sections of the talk. All of them are documents that until not so long ago did not find a place in libraries, but whose capacity to tell, to create narratives, is as valid as that offered by art.MUSAC's Vitrinas Project is hosting this exhibition from 28 September 2019 until 19 January 2020, which will enrich the collections of the museum's Documentation Centre. Be sure to visit the museum's website to keep up to date with the conferences, workshops and activities that are programmed in parallel to the exhibition.
