Concomitentes joins the manifesto ‘Time for Collective Action’.’

In a context of global crisis, this paper proposes to join forces with regard to these collective challenges of the planet, promoting proposals for social innovation that foster community-driven processes.

Global temperatures are likely to rise by 1.5°C this century. The 10% of the world's richest population produces approximately half of all greenhouse gas emissions... In a context of planetary crisis, these and other urgent issues - in which climate change, the loss of biodiversity and the impact of pollution play a leading role - we must join forces to make decisions and, from there, fight together against this uncertain future.

In this context of crisis and collective challenge, Concomitentes has joined the cause by signing the manifesto ‘Time for collective action’, which aims to support social innovation-led initiatives; to foster a form of public participation that underlines “living democracies”; or to fund community-led solutions.

This manifesto will thus drive self-organised initiatives of people working towards a defined set of environmental measures, with community-led projects that value sustainability as an ethical obligation and aspire to values such as cooperation, diversity, inclusion, resilience, equity and justice.

Principles that run through the practice and work of Concomitentes since it started in Spain in 2018.
