Laia Estruch
Laia Estruch (Barcelona, 1981) graduated in Fine Arts from the University of Barcelona. The voice and the body are the backbone of her research and artistic practice, which is situated between sculpture and action. The artist understands the voice as an extension of the body capable of synthesising questions related to language, speech, gender and social structures. Using spoken word, song, objects and publications, her projects analyse the emotive possibilities of the a cappella voice and the body without theatricalisation, opening up a space for reflection on the performative nature of language, sound recording and its oral archive. He has presented his projects, among others, at Macba, Chapelle des the Beaux-Arts in Paris, CA2M, Museo Picasso, Fundación Botín, CentroCentro, Fundación Joan Miró, CGAC, Feria ARCO, Centro de Arte La Panera, TBA21, Fundación Cerezales Antonino y Cinia, Azkuna Zentroa and TEA in Tenerife.
