€100,000 to fund two projects seeking to strengthen democracy

La convocatoria, dotada de 100.000€, will select two citizens' initiatives lideradas por jóvenes menores de 35 años que busquen fortalecer la democracia a través del arte participativo.

Como en otras convocatoria de Concomitentes, el procedimiento de presentación de propuestas constará de dos fases: una first phase of initial approach/definition of the project (with basic information about the idea), and a second development phase for five selected proposals. This second phase will be remunerated with €200 (taxable base).

Proposals will be received from anywhere in Spain.

Who is this call addressed to?

La convocatoria busca poner en marcha dos proyectos liderados por jóvenes menores de 35 años. Pueden presentarse a la convocatoria colectivos ciudadanos (comitentes) liderados por jóvenes menores de 35 años de la mano de un/a mediador/a artística o sin mediador/a. En este último caso, desde Concomitentes buscaremos una mediadora para el proyecto.

1. Group of principals (grupo ciudadano): Un colectivo liderado por ciudadanos que tengan una meta común. Personas que operen en un territorio o contexto concreto y tengan una reivindicación, idea o deseo para mejorar su comunidad a través de un proyecto artístico. Por ejemplo; un grupo de vecinas/os, un colectivo activista, una plataforma ciudadana, un equipo de trabajo… Este grupo debe ser sólido y estar abierto a commit themselves on a voluntary basis to a project that will last around 18 months.. The collective can be formal or informal, legally registered as an association or not.

In the event that the citizens' collective does not have contact with a mediator/agents from the cultural sector who can accompany them in the process, may be submitted independently raising Concomitentes will assist in the search for and selection of a suitable mediator for the objectives and needs of the project, should the project be selected.

2. The mediator: A person who assumes the role of mediation, which is understood to be that of a professional from the cultural and contemporary arts sector specialising in mediation, curating and cultural management, who also has a special sensitivity and empathy for mediating between social collectives and artists, experience in participatory cultural practices and in the integrated management of projects.

The mediator is the link between the project and Concomitentes, and will be in constant communication with a work team that will support her throughout the development of the project. She will also take part in the different activities and working groups that are developed and promoted by the association on behalf of her project.

The budget for this edition

Each selected project will be allocated a budget line of 50.000 euros (base imponible).

Se estima que el plazo de duración del proyecto artístico participativo será de 18 meses, una vez se comunique la resolución.

Deadlines to consider

Primera fase

— Apertura de la convocatoria: 10 de septiembre de 2026, 19:00h.

— Presentación del programa en La Casa Encendida: 10 de septiembre de 2026, 18:30h

— Sesión informativa online: 21 de septiembre de 2026 16:30h. Inscripción previa mediante este formulario.

— Cierre de la convocatoria (primera fase): 10 de octubre de 2026 a las 23:59h., envía tu propuesta here.

Segunda fase

— Selección de 5 proyectos finalistas: 26 de octubre de 2026.

— Recepción proyectos 2ª fase: 16 de noviembre de 2026 hasta las 23:59h.

— Evaluación de proyectos (2ª fase): Del 17 de noviembre a 24 de noviembre de 2026.

— Resolución: Fecha límite de resolución 25 de noviembre de 2026.

— Inicio de las concomitancias seleccionadas: Diciembre de 2026.

¿Por qué “Confabular más democracia”?

Confabular más democracia propone abrir dos procesos artísticos participativos para pensar/imaginar la democracia los próximos 50 años. Desde este ejercicio especulativo aspiramos a revisar de manera colectiva las problemáticas que actualmente afectan a los sistemas democráticos a través de acciones propositivas, queremos apoyar soluciones incipientes o ideas que necesitan madurar.
