Water damages the roads
Camping 2026
Water damages the roads, a popular Catalan saying
Camping 2026
On 13 and 14 June, we will be meeting again in Sapeira to share another day of work, learning, and celebration. We will talk about water again, but on this occasion, we will focus on how it is not always beneficial. When run-off descends uncontrollably, it erodes paths, damages houses, and transforms the landscape. In response to this, civilisations have, over the centuries, developed ways to manage and channel water, not to dominate it, but to coexist with it.
The water washes away the paths And so, between sips of wine and elderflower champagne, we will collectively restore a section of the old cobblestone street in Sapeira's Main Street. It will be an opportunity to learn to read the land, understand how water moves, and to value traditional knowledge that offers alternatives to the industrial materials that have been standardising our villages and landscapes.
The day will also be a space for neighbours, friends and people from elsewhere to meet. We will share food, walks, music, workshops and conversations, asserting community work as a way of building infrastructures, but also relationships. Because taking care of the paths is, after all, a way of taking care of the ways of life that travel them.
