Élan d'Orphium

Élan d'Orphium (Don Benito, Badajoz, 1992). “Élan d'Orphium is wild, a wild girl, an adventuress, a wild woman, a pájara, a rogue, a bicha, a queen abujarra, a whore, a classy worker, a feathered woman, a ladybird, a hairy woman and, in her spare time, an artist”. Her practice proposes re-readings of the genre in a broad sense, based on a confabulating interpretation of listening, gestures and observations, in dialogue with species and knowledge from other realms.

She studied Fine Arts at the Complutense University of Madrid (2010-2014), with an Erasmus programme at UAL Camberwell College (London, 2014). In 2018 she studied for a Master's degree in Contemporary Art Research and Creation (MIAC).

She has participated in projects developed in institutions and programmes such as Intermediae (Madrid, 2018), CA2M (Móstoles, Madrid), within the programmes But... is this art? (2019) y Picnic Sessions (2023 and 2025), Circuitos de Artes Plásticas de la Comunidad de Madrid (2021), the Centre for Artistic Residencies at Matadero Madrid (2021), the National Classical Theatre Company (Madrid, 2022), BilbaoArte Foundation (Bilbao, 2022), Schwules Museum (Berlin, 2022), Bulegoa z/b (Bilbao, 2022), Fundació Joan Brossa (Barcelona, 2023), INJUVE (2023), Concomitentes (Badajoz, 2024), and the GIRA programme at the Reina Sofía National Museum of Art (Madrid, 2023–2024), among others. In 2025, they received a Botín Foundation Arts Grant (Santander).
