Parliament of the Sea concomitance celebrates its kick-off day
On Wednesday 18 March, the Parliament of the Sea concomitance will hold its kick-off meeting.
This inaugural event, which will begin at the Institut de Nàutica de Barcelona (l'escar, Carrer de l'Escar, 6-8, Ciutat Vella, 08039 Barcelona), proposes a first meeting point between science, artistic practice and the community of Barceloneta. Based on the question of what common horizon we want to build for the neighbourhood, We will activate dynamics of listening, experimentation and shared thinking.
We will introduce Concomitentes and the people involved, and situate the project and its objectives.
The meeting will dialogue between neighbours and professionals of Barceloneta with the research team in charge of the Coastal Ocean Observatory of the Institut de Ciències del Mar (ICM-CSIC) -which promotes a system of coastal video-monitoring capable of observing the dynamics of the coastline in real time - and with the proposal of the collaborating artistic collective lumbung press, which will explore how to translate scientific data and situated knowledge into editorial devices and collective processes production and circulation of knowledge.

The day will conclude with a proximity tasting in the housing cooperative La Xarxaire (Pg. de Joan de Borbó, 11, Ciutat Vella, 08003 Barcelona), organised by the association Cap a mar, as part of the social fabric of the neighbourhood to continue imagining and building the Parliament of the Sea.
