Experts of the selection committee of the General Category of Mycelium VI

Eva Saldaña Buenache
Executive Director of Greenpeace Spain since 2021, although she has been involved in ecosocial transformation for more than 20 years. She is an ecologist, ecologist and specialist in participatory processes, transformational leadership, teamwork, non-violent conflict resolution and the design of complex sustainable systems. She believes that the future is built by all of us and that it has to be fair, green, inclusive and democratic.

Manuel Borja-Villel
Art historian and cultural manager. He directed the Fundació Antoni Tàpies, the MACBA and the Museo Reina Sofía (2008-2023), where he promoted a critical and inclusive review of the collection and programming. From 2023 to 2025 he was museum advisor to the Generalitat de Catalunya, leading the project “Inhabited Museum”, which rethinks the role of cultural institutions. From September of this year he will hold the Chair of Spanish Culture and Civilization at NYU.

Filipa Ramos
Doctor, writer and curator. Her practice-based research focuses on how contemporary art relates to nature and ecology. She is a lecturer at the Art Gender Nature Institute at the FHNW Academy of Art and Design in Basel and artistic director of the Loop Festival in Barcelona, dedicated to promoting artists' films. Ramos has been curator and co-curator of several institutions and biennials, including the Serpentine Galleries, the film sector of Art Basel, the 60th Venice Biennale, the 1st Klima Biennale Vienna, the 8th Gherdëina Biennale in 2021 and the 13th Shanghai Biennale. His latest book, The Artist as Ecologist (2025), continues his key research on art's engagement with environmental thinking and action.

Blanca de la Torre
Director of IVAM since 2024. With a PhD in Fine Arts, a degree in Art History and a master's degree in exhibition design, she has extensive experience in curating, research and cultural management. She has been chief curator of the Helsinki Biennial and the Cuenca Biennial, and has worked with museums and international projects. Her curatorial practice addresses sustainability, ecology and politics in art.

Tania Safura Adam
Researcher, writer and curator, founder of Radio Africa, a laboratory of critical thought on black arts and cultures; she is the author of the book «Voces Negras: una historia oral de las músicas populares africanas» (Black Voices: an oral history of African popular music). She currently directs the project «Archivos Negros» and, since 2022, leads the research «España Negra. Journey towards negritude in space-time». She has curated exhibitions and installations focusing on the archives, sounds, memories and resistances of the African diaspora.

Valentí Sallarès
Valentí Sallarès is director of the Institute of Marine Sciences (ICM-CSIC, Barcelona), where he promotes open and excellent research that integrates the contribution to the development of public policies and evidence-based social transformation. His research focuses on marine seismology, with special emphasis on large earthquakes and tsunamis.
