We are launching our first book!

Mutaciones en el espacio público (Mutations in Public Space) will be published in July.

We have been working for more than a year and finally! we can officially announce that Concomitentes is launching our first book, Mutations in Public Space, together with Bartlebooth Publishers.

The book, which will be published in July, starts with an initial question that arises from the confinement Doesn't it sound frivolous to continue working on an artistic-social project in the context of a global health crisis? From there, we looked into how the pandemic affected our lives and asked ourselves to what extent contemporary art could reflect on the challenges we are facing.

This call for thought and exchange is approached, first, with a survey to gather a social perception of the alterations brought about by the disease, the crisis, the fear of contagion. Then, we propose a work of co-authorship, calling on the epistemic community to think together. Finally, we complete the context of the data and these original texts with a series of contributions from other authors, through leaks that dialogue and connect with the key aspects pointed out by the authors.

The book Mutaciones en el Espacio Público is thus presented as a historical parchment, putting on the table the processes that already existed and that the pandemic has made urgentThe project is based on the following themes: proposing museums as an institutionality in which to place life at the centre and not only the object, the problems arising from the intensification of the normativisation of public space, the need to reconfigure everyday rhythms and the implementation of new meeting places based on sustainability, listening and care.

We already have a pre-sale space, active in the editorial, for the impatient ones here is the link.
