We are launching a call for proposals to address a social and/or environmental challenge through art!

The call is addressed to a citizen's collective or a mediator, together with a group of commissioners, who contribute to providing an artistic response to a problem in their environment through a participatory process.

We at Concomitentes are very pleased to announce the launch of our new Art for sustainability“ call for proposals”, which seeks to set up a new Concomitance with which to produce a public work of art based on a citizen's demand.

Any professional in the cultural sector who has the capacity to mediate between citizen and artistic collectives, and who will take on the role of role of mediator, The project must be a link between the project and Concomitentes. In addition, they must already be in contact with the citizens' group with which they will develop the proposal and which has a claim, idea or desire to improve their community through an artistic project.

We are looking for projects that address social demands, environmental challenges and/or community desires. The mediation has to be long term in order to carry out an active listening, which allows the artist to respond with a work of art to the citizen's request.

As a key requirement of the call, the projects must be new, unpublished and specifically designed for this announcement, and must be implemented following the protocol and methods of Concomitentes. Co-funding of the proposal will also be considered positively.

The budget heading covering the call for proposals is 30,000 euros, 21,000 for the production of the work and fees for the artist who will subsequently be selected.

Proposals must be submitted using the online form (here) available on the Concomitentes website (www.concomitentes.org) until 1 June.
