The initiative seeks to raise awareness of the fundamental role of culture and the arts in improving health and well-being.
The initiative ‘CultureForHealth’, which aims to disseminate European actions that raise awareness of the fundamental role of culture and the arts in improving individual and collective health and well-being., The project has included the projects of Concomitentes, Diversorium y Paediatric ICU, in its list of projects.
The Diversorium, launched in Barcelona in 2018, promotes meeting spaces so that people with functional diversity can «dance» together with the different affective and invisible communities in the city. For its part, Paediatric ICU (Tenerife) ensures the emotional care of paediatric patients, generating resources for nursing staff to support young patients and families during a hospital admission.
Seeking to boost the development of policies for culture and well-being in the European Union, ‘CultureForHealth’ has the ambition of triggering policy change on the continent to bring health, cultural and social policies closer together, developing cross-sectoral legislation through round tables and study visits, webinars or workshops, or publication of reports.
Ultimately, this project has been facilitating cross-sectoral and trans-European cooperation to share, collect and create knowledge.
CultureForHealth is a project co-funded by the European Commission with partners from across Europe, consisting of Culture Action Europe, Trans Europe Halles, Central Denmark Region, The Northern Dimension Partnership on Culture, Centrul Cultural Clujean and Društvo Asociacija.
