Time for art

Original text provided by Neue Auftraggeber and written by Judith Laister.

Photography, film, painting and sculpture, performing arts, music or theatre, literature, the defining form of the artistic work that responds to the commission formulated by the community - the form that defines the work of art.principals in the Spanish project, employers in other European countries - has a broad, varied and multiform spectrum. With this text the cultural anthropologist, Judith Laister, who researches and teaches at the Institute of Cultural Anthropology at the University of Graz, was commissioned by our German partners, New contract holder to generate a comprehensive analysis of New Commanders.
For this study, Laister interviewed to certain principals in France and Germany, In doing so, it examines the underlying methodology, and analyses current projects in development. The text delves into concepts such as the security of the we, the power of images, words and collective activities. In a depressed social context at a turning point, the relevance of an artistic process connected to the social seems more necessary than ever, recovering the potential of the imagination as a tool for socio-political transformation.
Laister concludes: “Reinserting art into society and making the right to imagination accessible is about redistributing power”.
