Spanish Presidency for the Council of the European Union supports Concomitentes

The support is aimed at Concomitentes to reinforce the role of artistic mediation as a fundamental role in Europe for the generation of citizen agency and the capacity of art to influence sustainability. The support also seeks to strengthen the European dimension of Concomitentes and enhance the visibility of the projects carried out by the national territory throughout the Spanish Presidency in the coming months.
Concomitentes' governance model stands out for its capacity for territorial dissemination, developing seven participatory artistic projects in six autonomous communities, and also for its capacity for international impact. Concomitentes is a member of the European network New Patrons/Nouveaux Commanditaires, partners of the New European Bauhaus and coordinators of the European project ‘Art Living Lab for Sustainability’, together with France and Belgium.
This capacity for permeability with local actors (town councils, associations, provincial councils) and other national and international actors has been a differential factor in gaining the support of the ‘...'.‘Spanish Presidency of the Council of the European Union’. Specifically, this collaboration, which amounts to 20,000 euros, is materialised in the collaboration of the artistic mediation of the projects of ‘...'.‘Living Waters’ (Llanos, Cantabria) and ‘Legacy Care’ (Betanzos, Galicia).

In addition, this assistance also supports the ‘.‘Youth Art for Sustainability Call for Proposals’The project will be the start of a participatory art project to address an environmental challenge, generating a new work of art that will join the more than 500 that have been produced under the New Patrons/Nouveaux Commanditaires protocol across Europe.
At the same time, this collaboration will foster the creation of the platform on European artistic mediation. ‘In Between’, which seeks to intensify cultural mediation committed to social transformation and a commitment to caring for the planet.

In addition to Concomitentes, the Spanish Presidency of the Council of the European Union will support other cultural projects of national importance, such as the 71st edition of the San Sebastian Film Festival, the Seminci in Valladolid, the Grec Festival in Barcelona, and programmes with the Prado Museum and the Royal Theatre.
