Solarities

Narrativas solares, a concomitance mediated by Alfredo Escapa Presa, was born in response to the threat of the installation of a macro-infrastructure of solar panels in the region of La Sobarriba. The work that has resulted from this concomitance is called Solarities. This is the proposal with which the architect María Auxiliadora Gálvez responds to the desire of neighbours to have places of participation from which they can be taken into account in the decisions that affect the territory they inhabit.

In the era of green extractivism, Solarities generates a space where neighbours can come together to celebrate and dialogue, and at the same time, it puts the relationship of the territory with the sun at the centre, as the Solaridades structure functions as a solar observatory from which it will be possible to enjoy the equinoxes and solstices every year.

Part of the structure of Solarities has been built by the clients with live grass to provide shade. The wooden structure was built by Gerardo Gorris. The group has been meeting for almost two years to build this structure little by little, adapting to the natural cycles. Thus, it is a living structure that will mutate over time.
