Meeting on the emotional care of paediatric patients

On 4 February a conference will be held in Tenerife, bringing together specialists in the subject and presenting a bibliographical review of the topic.
The emotional management of paediatric patients has been at the heart of our partnership since the beginning. Throughout these months since we published the interview to Enrique Chinea, –Can art be of help in a Paediatric ICU?-The coordinator of the group of nursing comitentes who have decided to embark on this journey with me, ZEMOS98 and the Concomitentes association, we have been working along two lines:
- Documenting emotional stressful situations for patients admitted to the paediatric ICU of the Hospital Nuestra Señora La Candelaria in Tenerife.
- Make a literature review on the topic of ‘emotional care of the paediatric patient’.’ which has been carried out by the psychologist Sara Miguel Barrena.
The two processes will conclude with a sharing session, which will be attended, in addition to the group of Severiano Torres Negrín, Liliana Quintero Sánchez, Ruyman Miranda Morales, Laura León Remedios and Sara Miguel herself, other specialists in medicine, nursing, paediatrics, psychology and sociology up to a maximum of 20 people.
The meeting will be documented audio-visually and textually, and we will share the conclusions and results. The aim of the meeting is to prototype a general protocol for emotional management of emotional care in paediatric patients as well as to close the commissioning phase of the project, trying to envision which tools of an artistic nature are necessary to address in the project.
This meeting will be private (if you are interested in attending please contact felipe@concomitentes.org) and will take place at Tenerife the next 4 February.
