The Saturday morning, 7 February we will celebrate the opening of Este queixo non é unha illa, the work of art of the collective Futurefarmers resulting from the project The stories of milk, a project of Concomitentes mediated by Ana Moure and Ana Escariz in A Ulloa.

«This cheese is not an island” (Este queixo non é unha illa) because it carries with it the memory of the pasture on the farm where Altri was to be installed, of the serpentine rock on which it sits, of the animals that live there, of the cow that grazed it and digested it, of the hands that milked it and shaped the milk, and of a long etcetera in which the natural and cultural elements of A Ulloa converge.

In a performative walk, we will roll the wheel built by the artistic collective Futurefarmers, on which the cheese will travel from Curbián to Arqueixal to celebrate the victories achieved in the struggle and the care that has been generated around it, which are, in a way, the ferment that keeps our communities united.

The day will end with a cheese tasting and a popular meal.
