Four experts will select the winning project of the ‘Youth Art for Sustainability Call for Proposals’.’

Along with the coordinator of Concomitentes, Fran Quiroga; Pepa Octavio from the Daniel and Nina Carasso Foundation; and Maral Kekejian, from the Coordination Office of the Spanish Presidency of the European Union, will be Carmen Haro, Christian Alonso, María Sánchez and Matías Rubio. From Concomitentes we share the profile and trajectory of the panel of experts that will select the winning project of the ‘Youth Art for Sustainability Call’:

Carmen Haro. Professor and researcher at the Universidad Rey Juan Carlos de Madrid and Director of Redes por el clima. Carmen is author and co-author of several writings on technopolitics and activism, ecology, citizen science and social laboratories. Her action-research approach has focused on the development of open, sustainable and collaborative cultural processes in different contexts. From self-management to university and institutional environments and public-citizen co-management laboratories.

Christian Alonso. Christian Alonso is director of the Centro de Arte la Panera and professor of Art History and Theory at the University of Lleida. He holds an International PhD in Art History from the University of Barcelona. His research has focused on understanding how art can come to operate as a tool for constructing socio-biotechnical ecologies in a world conditioned by climate change, social inequalities, and violence based on sex, race and gender. He has worked on this theme as a curator, as director of applied artistic research projects, as author and editor of books and journals, and as coordinator of conferences, symposia, seminars and workshops on art and critical thinking.
