For Concomitants the collective creation is at the heart of our practice. Society and nature are full of mechanisms for living together. Solidarity and reciprocity are inherent attitudes to sustain us. That's why we will start 2023 with a The event will take place at the Cerezales Antonino y Cinia Foundation in Cerezales. del Condado in the province of León, on Thursday 26 January.
This festival is an invitation to emphasise the power of creating in common, so we will address the lessons that mutualisms bring us, as well as open our source code, to see how it is possible to widen them. The festival will start with the talk ‘Learning from mutualisms: How to work together’, given by CSIC researcher Alicia Montesinos-Navarro and University of Oviedo lecturer Luis Benito García Álvarez.; and will continue with the conversation ‘Concomitentes opens its source code’.’, The project members will discuss the concomitances and next steps of the project. Of particular relevance will be the project Solar Narratives which is being developed in the province of León.
The cherry on top of this meeting will be the electronic music concert by the French-Galician artist Mounqup, an excuse to enjoy active exchange and collective celebration.
This conference is part of Concomitentes' line of work to generate spaces of accountability for the achievements, difficulties and scope of the processes that are being carried out. It is also framed within the line of work on sustainability., Hence the interest in finding out what mutualisms arise in nature and in society. Plants in natural communities not only compete for resources, but also exchange these resources between neighbours, just as society has organised itself into mutuals or montepios that also seek to weave solidarity mechanisms.
