Carme Nogueira will be the artist who will intervene in Parque do Pasatempo

The artistic production will start at the beginning of 2023 and will be part of the Legado Coidado project, which is being developed in the Pasatempo park in Betanzos.

A researcher and multidisciplinary artist Carme Nogueira (Vigo, 1970) is the artist selected to develop the artistic project of the concomitance to be carried out in the Galician region of Betanzos, Legado Cuidado, which will reflect on the historical legacy of the Germans García Naveira, specifically, the Parque do Pasatempo, and on how the heritage has not been well preserved, thus formulating the problem of how to put it in value through a contemporary philanthropic work.
The work of the artist, who holds a degree in Fine Arts from the University of Salamanca and a doctorate from the University of Vigo, stands out for the generation of artistic processes in which the models of representation, the involvement of the public and urbanism are challenged, thus developing proposals that explore the relationship between architecture and other disciplines, including site-specific interventions, video creations and artist's books.
In her artistic career she has worked from body criticism to the concept of identity or domestic intimacy with respect to her gender position. She is currently working on processes of subjectivation and the normalising function of spaces through photography and installation. In her latest work, this problem is materialised in a series of objects and actions for public spaces.
