Call for projects to participate in the 'In Between' cultural mediation day in Europe

With this call, four projects are being sought to participate in a conference that will take place at the Teatro Central in Seville on 30 November.
The meeting and reflection space on participatory processes and cultural mediation in Europe ‘In Between. For a mediation in Europe that strengthens communities’, promoted by Concomitentes and ZEMOS98, is making a open call for projects to participate in a public event, which will take place in the Central Theatre of Seville on 30 November 2023, from 17 to 21hrs.. A conference that seeks to promote the exchange of knowledge and strategies on artistic and cultural mediation in Europe, and which forms part of the programme of the Spanish Presidency of the Council of the European Union and is supported by the Daniel and Nina Carasso Foundation.
Main objectives of ‘In Between. For mediation in Europe that strengthens inclusive communities’.’
The initiative thus aims to intensify a type of cultural mediation that strengthens democracy and citizen participation. Among its main objectives are to give visibility to artistic and cultural mediation practices; to generate knowledge exchange and content production; and to provide spaces for mutual support between people and institutions.
The event is thus an opportunity to disseminate mediation projects and to make contact with professionals from the sector within a European framework, in which professionals from other member countries will also participate, positioning Spain in Europe as a benchmark in cultural mediation.
Details of the call
The call seeks projects that unite culture and mediation in their practice in a transversal way and through the involvement of different citizen groups. The projects can be independent or public institutions, initiatives that are currently active or experiences that have already been completed and can share their learning and good practices.
In total, four proposals will be selected to participate in the round table ‘Mediation Overview’. In addition, the projects will receive €350 (including tax) as an honorarium. Concomitentes will cover one night's accommodation for one person per project if necessary, and will offer a joint dinner for the speakers on the 30th after the event. Travel to Seville will be at the expense of the participating projects.
Among the main requirements for selection are:
1. Projects must be available for the dates and times of the event.
2. Have a track record of at least 2 years in this field.
It would be an asset:
1. Have public documentation available for consultation.
2. Be part of European networks linked to culture and/or civic participation.
3. Working with under-represented communities in the public space.
Initiatives will be assessed if they address issues related to feminism, LGTBIQ+ rights, environmentalism or anti-racism; and if their practice is related to the Sustainable Development Goals.
How to submit a proposal?

The projects will be selected by an evaluation committee made up of the technical team of Concomitentes and ZEMOS98, and the four selected projects will be made public on 10 November.
