Betanzos will host on 25th March the Eu amo o Patrimonio (I Love Heritage) Day

Betanzos will host the 25th of March a Eu Amo o Patrimonio‘ conference. The aim of this meeting is to analyse mechanisms that help to involve citizens in the care of their heritage., as well as to show the progress of the artistic participative process that is being developed in this town.
O encontro comezará comezará ás 11:00 horas no Liceo e será inaugurado por María Barral, alcaldesa de Betanzos e Fran Quiroga, mediador do Legacy Care and general coordinator of Concomitentes. This will be followed by the round table ‘Participation in culture’, with the collaboration of Maral Kekejian, technical advisor of the Coordination Office of the Spanish Presidency of the EU, and Rebeca Blanco Rotea, member of the Consello da Cultura Galega and professor at the University of Minho.
The second block will be moderated by Angel Arcay, director of the Library, Archives and Museum of Betanzos and member of the Association of Friends of the Parque do Pasatempo, and will deal with the relationship between art and society. Germán Labrador, director of Public Programmes of the Reina Sofía Museum, and the artist Carme Nogueira will also participate.
At the meeting, the artist will present a draft of an artistic and landscape installation that will be created in the immediate vicinity of the park. Thanks to this participatory process, a pioneer in Galicia, a work of art will be developed following a protocol that has already allowed the creation of more than 400 works in Europe. Betanzos joins cities like Paris or Madrid through the European network. Nouveaux Commanditaires. The resulting work, which is awaiting the relevant permits, and the project has the collaboration of the associations Roxín Roxal, Amigos do Parque do Pasatempo and Amigos do Casco Histórico de Betanzos, as well as the Council of Betanzos, under the coordination of the non-profit artistic producer Concomitentes and the financial support of the Daniel and Nina Carasso Foundation and the Government of Spain.

Betanzos will host the conference ‘I love heritage’ on 25 March. The aim of this meeting is to analyse mechanisms that help to involve citizens in the care of their heritage., The project will also show the progress of the participatory artistic process that is being developed in the locality.
The day will start at 11:00 a.m. at the Liceo and will be opened by María Barral, Mayoress of Betanzos and Fran Quiroga, mediator from Legacy Care and general coordinator of Concomitentes. This will be followed by the round table ‘Participation in culture’, with the collaboration of Maral Kekejian, technical advisor of the Coordination Office of the Spanish Presidency of the EU, and Rebeca Blanco Rotea, member of the Consello da Cultura Galega and professor at the University of Minho.
