Agenciamientos ecológicos, a book to strengthen our relationship with the territory

The book, co-edited with Bartlebooth, seeks to recognise in different territories and geographies, practices, lexicons and discourses that highlight the agency of communities in their territories.

What capacity do communities have to manage their resources, confront the ecological crisis and imagine future alternatives? What ways of reconsidering relationships with the environment, nature and other beings can we find? What role can contemporary art and processes of public participation play in envisioning and mobilising desires for social transformation?

Agenciamientos ecológicos brings together essays, experiences and proposals to rearticulate the relationships between communities, territories and viable futures through artistic processes. It seeks to recognise, in different territories and geographies, practices, lexicons and discourses that highlight the agency of communities in processes of self-government, to question inherited visions in the conception of what surrounds us and the capacity of contemporary art and community participation to catalyse new stories and narratives with which to confront the crisis of imagination in the face of an uncertain climate future.
