We do not know what democracy those who are not yet born will inhabit, but we do know that this democracy will be built, or undone, in every decision \u2014 small and large \u2014 that we make between today and then.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

How to imagine the democracy of the future, what core ideas and emotions will run through it, with what languages will it express itself, and above all, what forms of decision-making and participation will it enable? In On the threshold<\/em>, Remedios Zafra, Fernando Broncano and Jaume Peris, from the Futures Laboratory of the University of Alcal\u00e1, set out a diagnosis of the tension zones in contemporary democracies before proposing a series of crucial axes that constitute, from their perspective, some of the major challenges for democracy to come.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
