Self-publishing has given a voice to those who felt they had something to say outside the established channels. That's why there is a tradition in the use of fanzines amongst queer communities, social movements, anarchisms, feminisms... Artists discovered a long time ago that a book could be a piece of art and we've come this far with an increasingly varied production of publications. There is an encounter between the self-published (or published on the margins of hegemonic or official publishing or artistic productions) and artistic intentionality that goes beyond the traditional idea of the book that has been the paradigm in libraries and bookshops.
