Interdependencias initiates an artistic mediation process through the Ambar association with the aim of advancing non-institutionalised models for people with functional diversity. Ambar has been working for over 40 years for equal opportunities for people with functional diversity in the Barbanza region.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Can an institution focused on the lives of people with disabilities disappear? <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The institutionalisation of care for people with functional diversity has been an advancement, but What if deinstitutionalisation allowed us to experiment with other ways of being together?<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n

The disappearance of these institutions could mean that people participate in the decisions that affect their lives, and by extension, we would cease to see them as subjects of assistance and instead as subjects of their own lives. To achieve this deep desire, we first need to imagine it. We propose activating a participatory artistic project that helps us to consider other, more interdependent ways of relating to each other.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

A sort of mycelium of relationships that intertwine and allow progress in the agency of people's lives in general and people with functional diversity in particular. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

What can the perspective of diversity bring to a territory? <\/p>\n\n\n\n

We are starting a mediation process with a group of clients made up of 15 users of Ambar. This initial group of promoters will gradually be joined by professionals, family members and volunteers from the association, as well as other people from the immediate community. The ultimate goal is to lead an artistic work with which to ask society as a whole how we can deinstitutionalise the lives of people with functional diversity. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

How do we imagine diversity in the community life of a region? During the process, we will work outside the institutional building, creating the conditions for it to unfold, for careful and permeable encounters with the community to occur, and for interdependencies to be practised. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

We hope the final result will be a work of art that advances the initial dream from which this concomitance is born: the disappearance of institutions in the lives of people with functional diversity. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
