Indeed, it could be said that the \u2018archive\u2019 has become both the facilitating and limiting horizon of many cultural practices.&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>It often seems that all forms of collecting, memory work and all forms of programming can only be conceived by appealing to the figure of the \u2018archive\u2019. Even the desire for an alternative cultural politics, including decolonised and counter-hegemonic practices, seems to depend on alternative archival models.&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Here are some examples:<\/p>\n<p><u><a href=\"https:\/\/www.decolonisingthearchive.com\/\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer nofollow\">https:\/\/www.decolonisingthearchive.com\/<\/a><\/u>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><u><a href=\"https:\/\/dpe.tools\/resources\/instituting-from-archives\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer nofollow\">https:\/\/dpe.tools\/resources\/instituting-from-archives<\/a><\/u>)<\/p>\n<p>In this online workshop: <strong>\u201cA participatory impulse? How to archive relationships\u201d.\u201d<\/strong>,<strong> <\/strong>Mick Wilson, Director of Doctoral Studies and Professor of Art at HDK-Valand at the University of Gothenburg (Sweden), which will take place on Wednesday, 11 September from 12 to 13.30hrs at <strong>English<\/strong>, The reasons for this ascendancy of the archive, the different ways in which it has been experimentally reconstructed and the broader contexts of current archival impulses in contemporary art will be explored.<\/p>\n<p>The session will also explore what might be at stake in translating this archival thinking into specifically \u00absocial\u00bb and \u00abparticipatory\u00bb art practices. <strong><em>What might it mean for practices that give primacy to some idea of social relation to archive those relations?<\/em><\/strong> What can it mean to exercise custodianship of relationships? <strong><em>How might this be framed as a meaningful task, and what issues might be at stake?<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Wilson is Visiting Professor at the Latvian Academy of Art (since 2021) and Faculty-at-large for the Master of Arts Curatorial Practice, SVA, New York (since 2014).He is co-investigator on several research projects, including \u2018The Museum of the Commons at L'Internationale\u2019 (EACEA, 2023-2027); \u2018The Fountain: An art-technological-social drama\u2019 (Swedish Research Council for Sustainable Development, 2020-2024); or \u2018The Research Dissensus Glossary\u2019 (University of Gothenburg, 2024-2028), and has been involved in editing several publications.<\/p>\n<p>This session is part of the European project \u2018<u><a href=\"https:\/\/artlivinglab.eu\/\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer nofollow\">Art Living Lab for Sustainability<\/a><\/u>\u2019The aim of the project - promoted by Concomitentes, De Nieuwe Opdrachtgevers, La Soci\u00e9t\u00e9 des Nouveaux Commanditaires - is to respond to three open participation processes in Spain, France and Belgium through an artistic solution committed to the surroundings, nature and the environment.<\/p>\n<p><strong>We invite you to participate in this one and a half hour online workshop, which you will be able to attend by filling in the following form <a href=\"https:\/\/docs.google.com\/forms\/d\/1dB8Xfqb4SygAJ_izIhvufI334RHC5kil85uDixWzWXE\/viewform?edit_requested=true\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer nofollow\">this form<\/a>.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>More information on the European project website: <u>www.artlivinglab.eu<\/u>.<\/p>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Durante varias d\u00e9cadas, el archivo ha sido una figura central y una preocupaci\u00f3n, tanto para la infraestructura organizativa como para la producci\u00f3n pr\u00e1ctica del arte contempor\u00e1neo.
