Concomitentes is quite a journey. We had already been warned by other mediators, with years of experience, of Les Nouveaux commanditaires<\/a>The processes are becoming more complex, like a labyrinth. Just on 4 March 2020, our team of Paediatric ICU commissioners met and decided that they wanted to explore various avenues for the culmination of the work we started with them 3 years ago. From that moment on, I had the intuition that Elena Cabrera<\/strong> had to be present. But then the pandemic hit and we had to overcome a very tough year to keep going. <\/p>\n

A few days ago, immersed in the creative process of the podcast starting in September 2020, we had an important meeting. We wanted to talk about how we were going to deal with issues related to loss. And I said spontaneously about Elena: \u201cIf nurses care for children, she is a caregiver of stories. That's the sine qua non that I think art has to fulfil if it wants to be social: to take care of everything that goes into putting together a story that illuminates the parts that are obscured or hidden. Elena is mainly known for her journalistic work, and has also been linked to the cultural scene.<\/a> through its label Autoreverse<\/strong> and numerous radio projects in which he has participated.<\/p>\n

At ZEMOS98 our concept of art has always been quite broad. I suppose partly out of respect for the history of Dadaism. But also because, when we edited and published together with Mar Villaespesa<\/strong> \"Source code: the remix<\/a>\u201dWe realised the profound relationship that exists between the avant-garde and practices that, while not labelled as artistic, share languages and formats. Or what is a meme if not a meme? collage<\/em> made with today's tools? Quoting David Casacuberta who in turn quoted the master Gusteau in \u201cCreation and Collective Intelligence<\/a>\u201d: \u201canyone can cook\u201d. Which is nothing more than a derivative of \u201cEveryone is an artist\u201d by Joseph Beuys<\/strong> which we also tuned ourselves in our documentary \u201cEveryone can be a remixer<\/a>\u201d. In short, we see art as a public square that anyone has the right to access.<\/p>\n

The strange thing about a paediatric ICU box is that, being part of a public institution, it is a closed, hermetic place. Elena's challenge is to open this black box and tell us what happens there. Without being sensationalist, but without avoiding talking about what is not seen, what is not named. It is no small responsibility.
