On 4 and 5 June, at IVAM and Parque Alcosa respectively, we are celebrating Comunidades deseantes (Desiring Communities). When wanting together is already resisting, the second edition of the Enredadas (Entangled) Days. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Tangled Days are an annual meeting for debate and reflection, driven by Concomitentes, a non-profit organisation that develops art and citizen participation projects in response to socio-environmental issues in specific contexts. In collaboration with the IVAM and UPV Valencia, this edition of the Days is conceived as a space to continue pondering how much desire is a mobilising force.

In a context marked by emotional exhaustion and the feeling of individual powerlessness, these jornadas invite us to continue weaving from strength and interconnection. Tangled Journeys: Desiring Communities<\/em><\/strong>, proposes a shift: from weariness to power, from isolation to collective strength. Following the reflection developed in The seduction of charm. An alternative to the society of discouragement<\/em>, we understand desire not as a lack, but as a relational energy capable of generating bonds, meaning and social transformation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

This edition of the Enredadas Conferences is conceived as a space for activating collective desire, where art, critical thinking, and community practices intertwine to imagine and experiment with other ways of being together. Faced with dominant narratives of crisis and deadlock, the conferences focus on experiences where the common is not just a framework for management, but an affective and political engine for change.<\/p>\n\n\n\n


Desiring communities<\/em> An invitation to intertwine: to recognise the power of bodies when they organise, of ideas when they circulate, and of alliances when they are sustained over time. Through conversations, artistic practices, and spaces for listening, we will explore how communities capable of desiring together are built, and from there, transform their realities.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The programme is structured as a journey through different forms of collective action, bringing academic knowledge, situated experiences, and cultural practices into dialogue that activate the common good through care, imagination, and shared commitment. More than offering fixed solutions, the meeting seeks to open up urgent questions: how is collective desire cultivated in times of discouragement? What conditions allow a community to become active and sustain itself? What role do art and culture play in reviving the common good?<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Kristine Guzm\u00e1n (IVAM)<\/summary>\n

Kristine Guzm\u00e1n has accumulated over two decades of experience in cultural management, from the Reina Sof\u00eda National Museum of Art Centre to the Santander 2016 Foundation. For almost twenty years, she has been in charge of the general coordination of MUSAC, the Museum of Contemporary Art of Castilla y Le\u00f3n. There, she was primarily responsible for the management and coordination of all aspects relating to the building and the work teams, contributing to the launch of the museum, its building and its collection, the definition of its strategic plan, and the supervision of both administrative and creative processes. This included human resource management, economic planning, the drafting and awarding of tenders and contracts, as well as museum policies, in coordination with the various directors.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In addition to this, they have undertaken coordination and curatorial tasks for exhibitions, both at MUSAC and other institutions. They have edited books on art, architecture, sustainability, and inclusion, and have given lectures and workshops on these topics. They have participated as a judge in art and culture awards and in curatorial residency programmes in Spain and the Philippines. They have also been part of the Advisory Council of the Santander Creativa Foundation (2015-2018) and the Museum of Modern and Contemporary Art of Santander (2019-present).<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Since 2023, he has held the role of Film Commissioner for Castilla y Le\u00f3n Film Commission, under the Siglo Foundation for the Arts of Castilla y Le\u00f3n. His mission is to relaunch the commission and transform it into a proactive entity, positioning the region as a filming destination and facilitating productions.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Born in Manila in 1974, she holds a degree in Architecture from the University of Santo Tomas, Manila, a Master's degree in Architectural Restoration from the Polytechnic University of Madrid, and a Micro-degree in History, Culture, and Contemporary Thought. She is currently pursuing a degree in Art History at the National University of Distance Education.<\/p>\n<\/details>\n\n\n\n

Luc\u00eda Casani (Daniel and Nina Carasso Foundation)<\/summary>\n

Director General for Spain of the Daniel and Nina Carasso Foundation. Luc\u00eda has a degree in Audiovisual Communication from the Complutense University of Madrid. After participating in film and advertising projects, she joined the founding team of La Casa Encendida in 2002, where she was responsible for Culture and, from 2014, General Director. She has driven cultural and social programmes focused on critical thinking, innovation, and citizen participation. Since 2023, she has led the Foundation in Spain, strengthening the dialogue between art, sustainable food, and social transformation.

From 2003 onwards, she has been dedicated to teaching Sculpture at the Faculty of Fine Arts of San Carlos, as well as to independent cultural management. She has specialised in coordinating events related to the creation of critical discourse. She is the author of popular science publications and collaborates with various university Master's degrees. As a researcher, she is part of the History and Philosophy of Experience group at the Centre for Human and Social Sciences of the CSIC (2014-2026). She participates in various European research and innovation projects with institutional funding, focusing on notions such as mutual aid, the ecological crisis, and mental health.<\/p>\n<\/details>\n\n\n\n

A transgender artist, Dr. in artistic production and research (Extraordinary Thesis Award 2020, UPV, Valencia). Her work explores the connections between gender and ecology from a queer perspective, as shown in the book Ecogender X (2019). Her practice is based on performance and expanded theatre, and includes video, music and graphic art. Since 2009, she has organised exhibitions, workshops and conferences with La Erreria (House of Bent), a queer art collective and space. Among her recent projects is Trans Territory (2022), based on ephemeral interventions that claim the presence of a trans body in the rural world.

Visual artist whose practice focuses on questioning social, legal, and moral norms, creating tension at the boundaries between legality, ethics, and legitimacy. They understand art as a tool for social and political intervention, beyond its cultural dimension. With a degree in Fine Arts, specialising in sculpture (2005), they have expanded their training through programmes such as the Chair of Behavioural Art in Havana and SOMA in Mexico City. Since their first exhibition in 2005, they have developed an international career with numerous solo and group shows in Europe and the Americas, and have received various awards and grants.

Her work, which revolves around the archive, uses recent history as a vehicle to reflect on the idea of community and the city as a place of past, present, and future encounters.

In the defence of the territory, its focus is directed towards the preservation of l'Horta, its value as a landscape, and the immensity of its agricultural, water, cultural, and historical heritage.

A cooperative that uses artistic, mediation, and educational tools and strategies as its basis, hybridising these with participatory action research, cultural management, and training. It is a collective that imagines, develops, and promotes critical imaginaries around an anti-adultist perspective on education, art, and culture. The collective is formed by Teresa Mata and Alba Oller.

Local Reconstruction Committees<\/summary>\n

Following the severe effects caused by the DANA on 29 October 2024, various municipalities in the region decided to organise themselves to actively participate in the reconstruction of their towns. With this aim, the Local Emergency and Reconstruction Committees (CLERs) were established. These are spaces for citizen participation that seek to give the population a voice in decision-making regarding measures and actions that directly affect their environment. Neighbours, associations, technicians, and institutional representatives meet within the committees to debate, propose solutions, and ensure transparent, fair management oriented towards the common good. Within the CLERs, working groups are organised (housing, education, environment, trade, emergency plans, etc.) to guarantee participative, safe reconstruction that is adapted to the real needs of the population.

The House of Futures<\/summary>\n

A project under construction that aims to create a physical and permanent space in the Barcelona metropolitan area dedicated to climate justice and the articulation of social movements. Through a Climate Justice Centre and a School of Movements, it drives processes of cooperation, collective learning, and mutual support to address the eco-social crisis, connecting social and ecological struggles from an intersectional perspective. Its work is organised around climate resilience, global solidarity, and transformative pedagogies, with the objective of strengthening networks, sharing tools, and promoting sustainable alternatives from a community-based approach.

Coordinator of Park Collective<\/summary>\n

A network of associations, grassroots organisations and cooperatives working to combat and reduce the risks of socioeconomic exclusion for the entire population. Until the flood that devastated the southern areas of Val\u00e8ncia, activities took place in the Convivial and Educational Support Day Centre, aimed at children aged 5 to 14, and in the Socio-Labour Insertion Day Centre, aimed at adolescents and young people. To date, activities are taking place in public spaces or in the facilities of the Koordinadora for the Alfafar Town Council.

Reyes Pe<\/summary>\n

An artist whose installation projects focus on investigating human perception beyond sight, especially through touch, primarily using textile materials. Since 2013, they have exhibited their installations and ephemeral architectural pieces in various venues across cities such as Madrid, Valencia, Castell\u00f3n, and Barcelona. Their work as an experimental *fallera* artist, developed from textile art, is particularly noteworthy. For almost ten years, Reyes Pe has focused on reinterpreting *fallas*, incorporating and promoting innovative, feminist, and diversity-focused perspectives within a traditionally male-dominated space. They create all their works from personal or collective remnants, aiming to generate minimal waste and impact, with a clear ecological and environmentally respectful perspective.

A trans* folk music collective. They have three albums, _Psicopompa_ (2020), _Solatge_ (2022), and _Derelicte_ (2023), and the EP _Fallanca_ (2021), filled with techno, punk, trap, folklore, angry pop lyrics and a strong desire to dance. In 2024, they released their fourth album, _Conxorxa_ (Poni de Troya), which is solidifying them as a leading group in the new electronic political folk scene.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
