The study \u2018The future is the climate\u2019, in which 9,000 young people participated, reflects a concern and sensitivity in this stratum of society about the climate crisis: \u201c82% of young Spaniards have suffered eco-anxiety at some time in their lives or are suffering from it at the moment. This is a level of concern that is at least 20 points higher than that of previous generations\u201d.<\/p>\n<p>In this context, Concomitentes is launching the second edition of the \u2018Call for Youth Art for Sustainability\u2019, which seeks to launch a new participatory art project to produce a public artwork based on a citizen demand, through a mediation process.&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>The deadline for applications will be open until <u>wednesday 6 september<\/u>.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Target group: young citizens' groups and women mediators<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>New for 2023, the proposal is aimed at groups of young commissioners - under 35 years of age - who want to undertake a participatory process to explore through art a collective desire or socio-environmental conflict with the help of a mediator. Both independent young collectives - which do not have a mediator in their team - and alliances previously established for this call between a mediator from the cultural sector and a citizen collective may apply. If a project led by an independent collective without a mediator in its proposal is selected, Concomitentes will assign a professional according to the problems and local context.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Environmental issues as a focus of work<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>We are looking for projects that address environmental challenges and community desires. The mediation has to be long term in order to carry out an active listening, which allows the artist to respond with a work of art to this civic commission.<\/p>\n<p>As a key requirement of the call, the projects must be new, unpublished and specifically designed for this announcement, and must be implemented following Concomitentes' protocol and methods within a period of approximately 18 months. Co-funding of the proposal will also be considered positively.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Budget and how to submit<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Within the budget of 30,000 euros, 9,000 euros will go towards the fees of the mediator and 21,000 euros for the production of the work and fees for the artist who will be selected afterwards.
