Iv\u00e1n Argote (Bogot\u00e1, 1983) is a Colombian artist based in Paris, responsible for the artistic work of the concomitance of the Library of the Faculty of Fine Arts of the Complutense University in Madrid. Iv\u00e1n's work explores the relationship between history, politics and the construction of our own subjectivities, through a variety of formats including video, sculpture, collages or installations in public space, tending to raise questions about how we relate to others, the state, heritage or traditions. His works are critical, sometimes anti-systemic, and deal with the idea of bringing affection to politics and politics to affection, with a tone somewhere between the strong and the tender.
